What type of rowing do you want to do?
Sweep rowing is when each rower has one oar. Boats are composed of 2, 4, or 8 people and usually have a coxswain (pronounced cox'n).
Sculling is when each rower has two oars. Sculling is typically done alone in a boat, but can also be done on our water in a boat of 2 rowers.
What is your rowing experience?
If you're new to the sport, then you will begin by enrolling in the appropriate learning class. Check out our Learn to Row or Learn to Scull programs.
If you have rowed or sculled previously, you may be able to join one of our programs directly. We offer 4 programs, Technical Sweep, Open Sweep, Open Sculling, Inclusive Rowing.
More information about the programs can be found on the links above. Registration for programs can be found on the Fees and Registration page.
Your age?
AARC programs are intended for masters (adult) rowers. If you are under 18 years old, please check out the Washtenaw Rowing Center or your local high school.
