More About the Dock
The Bandemer Park dock serves a broad range of the community, from casual kayakers to competitive rowers. Last summer, nearly 1,000 rowers participated in races sponsored by the Ann Arbor Rowing Club. The dock is also used by the University of Michigan Men's Rowing, the Pioneer High School and the Huron High School Rowing Teams for training and events.
Despite years of patchwork repairs, the dock has reached a point where it must be fully replaced. Your support will help keep this vital community resource safe and functional for all who use it.
Help Us Upgrade the Bandemer Park Dock!
Our clubs are joining forces to replace the existing dock with a top-of-the-line synthetic dock system from EZ Dock. The new dock will be easier to maintain and clean—goodbye endless board replacements! It will also last 30-40 years, providing future rowers with a safe, stable, and reliable platform. This upgrade will cost $100,000-$120,000, but it’s worth every penny to maintain the quality of our facilities for years to come.
The new dock will use a composite material made of large sections for greater stability and durability, while maintaining the same footprint as the current dock. The main launching area will be slightly wider at 13 feet versus the current 12 feet. For more information, check out the Low Profile Rowing EZ Dock brochure.

Let’s come together, as we’ve done so many times before, to build something that benefits all four rowing programs—and future rowers yet to come. Whether you donate, help us fundraise, or share this message with friends and family, your support helps keep our community strong and our dock steady (literally).
Thank you for your support and for helping us row into the future with a new, improved dock!
